Task Groups
Tutorial: For a brief overview of the process, click the above image to view the Task Groups training video. For full details, continue reading below.
Task Groups enable multiple tasks to be assigned to a single task handler. The task handler is able to decide which order to carry out the tasks. Using a task group prevents multiple task handlers being assigned when one task handler could easily carry out these tasks, e.g., a group task of several blood move tasks, one task handler can collect the blood samples from various wards and deliver them to Pathology.
Note: Tasks do not need to be the same task type or priority, but hospital rules should be followed.
The tasks will be progressed when the task handler is detected at any of the tasks' first waypoints. All tasks are then progressed automatically as the task handler works through the tasks.
Users with the relevant permissions can group tasks together from the Task Queue screen. Only unassigned tasks can be grouped.
Tasks that were part of a task group will be flagged as such in the IWS Reporting Portal (ARP).
